Basic KS3 Assessment Levels

Basic KS3 Assessment Levels

Backplanned from the Edexcel GCSE Drama and A-level Theatre Studies specifications, our KS3 assessment rubric provides teachers with a simplified version of the knowledge and skills which must be assessed for a student to begin understanding the intracacies of the subject for examinable purposes later in their school career.

This KS3 rubric is split according to assessment levels which match to target grades for GCSE as well as specific assessment objectives which have been further scaffolded for diverse schemes of work:

  • Groupwork skills
  • Using stimuli
  • Understanding a script
  • Character work
  • Vocal and physical performance
  • Focus and chemistry/group dynamic
  • Responding to a brief
  • Evaluation

This document is part of our "rubric" series which is aimed at minimising the amount of time going in to crafting working documents from scratch. We found this document particularly useful in one-person departments or departments that teach through-school and are therefore assessing a high volume of students at all times.
