Tutoring

private programs

Our creative director is a qualified English and Drama teacher with over 11 years of experience in the classrooms of Durban and Dubai where she was determined to carry outdated curriculums into the 21st century. Over the past decade she has also worked as a tutor in bespoke programs that are created to meet every student at their level and work with them to achieve their potential in subjects such as English Language and Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies, Film and Media Studies. Lauren also takes great pride in providing pastoral support and careers advice when working with young people for their university applications, exam preparation and study techniques. Our prospectus has also been tailored to ensure almost every program can be taught as a private, one-on-one program for students of various ages and levels of proficiency.

Seniors

secondary, sixth form and ib programs

With over a decade of experience in the drama classroom and as head of performing arts in two countries, our company founder is a passionate advocate for holistic education. Our Senior programs have therefore been curated to provide practical opportunities for honing talent whilst also encouraging the use of new interdisciplinary skills. At co|lab classroom our aim is to bridge the gap between education and profession which is why so many of our programs have direct links to our co|lab creations production platform where we also offer Trinity College of London exams.

Our Dare To series uses an interactive outcomes-based approach to upskilling students in design, dance, devising and directing. Our Mastering Monologues course is for all those who want to understand how best to apply an acting methodology to elevate their own performances whilst Creating Chemistry supports those who want to create impactful performative relationships on stage or screen. Our How To Be A Journalist series provides experiential learning which requires all students to participate in professional writing tasks for theatre, film and dance.

Schools

staff development and curriculum integrations

At co|laboratory we are proud to engage in a grassroots approach to our staff development and curriculum integrations for schools. By working in close collaboration with shareholders at every level we are able to craft individualised packages which have been tailored to support the school, staff and students. This prospectus is therefore merely the starting point for further discussions which relate directly to the needs of each school, eliminating a one-size-fits-all approach. From corporate workshops for theatre education and staff development to our bespoke consultancies with qualified and experienced professionals, from peripatetic programs delivered on-site to exciting Week Without Walls takeovers, there really is so much we can accomplish in collaboration with one another and the performing arts.

Drama Students

Adults

for beginners to advanced

Our Adult programs have been developed using our collective years of experience in the performing arts and theatre education sectors. We offer Adult workshops and courses as a level-up from their Senior counterparts, ensuring that we implement our pedagogical approach through a focus on refining talent whilst also building up a series of foundational to advanced skills which function across many creative disciplines. We are thus able to teach individuals who wish to improve their craft, learn something new or refresh their knowledge but we also encourage group learning opportunities where those of us at different stages of our own learning journeys are placed in a position to build one another up as any ensemble would.
